MyPage5 is introducing a system whereby members will get a share of our advertising revenue. Other social networking sites make millions of pounds in advertising revenue as a result of their users spending many hours a day on their sites. MyPage5 wants to reward its members for all the time they contribute. After all, if we make money, why shouldn’t you?
How does MyPage5 make money through advertising?
MyPage5 has advertisements on every page and these are put there by an advertising network. MyPage5 gets paid by the advertisers on a ‘cost per thousand’ page view basis. This means that every time a page containing an advert is viewed a thousand times, MyPage5 gets a small amount of revenue. This may not sound like much but a single user spending 5 minutes on the site can accumulate a surprisingly large number of page views.
How will members get their share of the revenue?
Members will get 20% of the profit revenue based on a twentieth of the page views that they have accumulated monthly. Members will accumulate page views everytime another member views their profile, pictures, videos or blogs. It is thus advised that members spend time adding to their profile, uploading pictures, uploading movies, blogging and listing items on the classified page. In addition, members will also get $0.25 for every new member that they invite. The new members must register with MyPage5 and remain an active member of the site.
Please note: Those members, or friends must log in first otherwise their activities on your profile page will not accumulate any page views for you. Members will not accumulate much page views for the activity that they themselves do on their profiles or for the content that they post.
How will I know how many page views I have accumulated?
MyPage5 has a sophisticated tracker that adds up all the page views that every member accumulates. On the left hand side of every member’s profile page, there is a tab called ‘Profile Stats’. This tab contains a date range selector and page view counter so that you can keep track on your progress every month.
How will I be paid?
MyPage5’s preferred payment method is Paypal, which is an online payment service. Payment is instantaneous and protected against fraud. If a member is not registered with Paypal, a cheque will be sent via the postal service.
Please note: Paypal charges a small percentage fee for using their service. MyPage5 will also deduct a small postage fee for posting a cheque. It is thus important that you decide which option suits you best. All members have a tab on the left hand side of their profile page called ‘Payment Settings’. Details which are set via this tab include the minimum payment and preferred method of payment.
How do I improve my page views and thus get more money?
The easiest way to improve your page views is to add as much as possible to the site and to your profile page. You should also invite all your friends and encourage them to view all the content that you have uploaded. MyPage5 is a social networking site so we really want all our members to share their pictures, videos and blogs with their friends and the world.
How do I ensure that I don’t get any money?
If a member is found to be using software or any other fraudulent means of increasing their page views, MyPage5 will suspend their account and render their page views null and void. MyPage5 will not hesitate to take legal action and report such individuals to the relevant authorities.
When will I get paid?
MyPage5 issues payments two months after you accrue them. For example, earnings you made in March 2008 will be paid in May 2008. If your revenue does not meet the minimum pay out you chose, this revenue will automatically roll over to the following month. For UK addresses, please allow 5 working days for you cheque to arrive.
